Favourite Christmas Films (Updated)

Hello lovely readers so Christmas draws ever closer, so I thought I would share with you an updated version of my favourite Christmas films. A few of these aren't in any way Christmas related but they are films that my family and I always end up watching at Christmas. I'll explain more about the films that are less obviously Christmas-y.

The Avengers
This may have (definitely) been Dan's influence as he's a massive Marvel fan but either because it's on TV or we want to The Avengers ends up being watched over Christmas.

Holiday Inn

The Snowman

The World's Fastest Indian
This film stars one of my favourite actors, Antony Hopkins who plays a New Zealand speed bike racer whose life long dream has been to travel to America and test his bike at Bonneville Speedway. It's a lovely feel good movie which is perfect for Christmas time.

Father Christmas

Home Alone

The Nightmare Before Christmas
I am on the side of the debate who say it's a CHRISTMAS film.

Waking Ned Devine
Two friends Jack and Michael discover a beloved man from their village has died from shock after winning the lottery. After Jackie has a dream which he believes was from the deceased Ned he sets out with Michael to pretend to be Ned and claim the money. The film could has been distasteful but it is so well done, it's hilarious and moving all at once.

Shrek and Shrek 2
They are such brilliant, funny films that make them perfect to watch at Christmas time.

The Fifth Element
Every 5000 years a great evil comes to destroy life and the only thing that can stop it is the ultimate warrior created to protect life, The Fifth Element. I love sci-fi and this is one of my favourite films of all time.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

The Hobbit
Dan and I discovered this animated version of The Hobbit from 1977 and fell in love with it. So every year we watch it together and this year the family has agreed to watch it with us.

A Christmas Carol AKA Scrooge

A Christmas Carol (animated 1971 version)

I hope you enjoyed this post and finding out what my favourite Christmas films are. Do you like any of these films? What are your favourite Christmas films?

Thanks for reading!
