Guilty Pleasures

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and are enjoying the weekend! I’m sorry that my posts aren’t being as regular as they were a few months ago, if you read my last post, I’m sure you’ll understand.

Today I thought I would talk about guilty pleasures, for anyone who doesn’t know what I mean guilty pleasures are the things we do or like that we think are embarrassing that we wouldn’t readily share with anyone else. We all have them and if you say you don’t I think you might be telling porky pies (that’s lies in cockney rhyming slang in case you didn’t know).

For a bit of fun I thought I would share with you a few of my guilty pleasures. Now many of my guilty pleasures are do with music. Now I am a bit of a music snob I do tend to judge people’s taste in music and I think music sounds better on vinyl. I know, I know, I’m not proud of myself but there we go. However while writing this post I find myself listening to One Direction’s Drag Me Down on repeat. One Direction are a band which I will criticise a lot but here I am listening to one of their songs and really enjoying it. Guilty pleasure alert!

Another of my music guilty pleasures is Taylor Swift, again if anyone asked me if I liked her music I would put on my best snobby voice and say “of course not”. Behind closed doors I will listen to her songs and know all the words, okay so I would never buy an album of hers but I’m pretty sure that’s just because that would look too much like admitting that I like her music. Many tell me that my crazy obsession with musicals should be a guilty pleasures but I feel absolutely no shame in loving them and will tell anyone who would listen how much I love them.I don’t think I have as many guilty pleasures relating to other things than I do to do with music. I’m sure that there are some but they won’t come to mind…

Okay a few do come to mind and yes I know it’s odd as I am a 22 year old woman but I do on a regular occasion put on Horrid Henry and binge watch. Yes Horrid Henry is a children's cartoon and I really enjoy watching it. However the live action film was an abomination! Who knew a kids show could bring out such strong emotions?

Another of my guilty pleasures comes in the form of going on Pinterest and looking at pictures of men and women who I have crushes for very long periods of time. Giggling like a teenager while I do so, if you want to check that out that board you can find it here.

As much as we may be embarrassed by our guilty pleasures, let's face it they do give us hours of pleasure and some of the most fun we have is indulging in them. Not that I ever put on Taylor Swift, dance around like a crazy person using a hairbrush as a makeshift microphone, cough, cough.

I hope you enjoyed this post and had fun learning about my guilty pleasures. What things do you do or like that you don’t like to admit? Let me know I’d love to hear them!

Thanks for reading!
