University Tips

I'm reaching the end of my three years of university and I know many people reaching a time when they are considering attending uni or not. I thought I would give some tips for those people who are considering or are set on going to university.

Choose a course that your interested in. Well, yeah, this is obvious but its so important to pick a subject that you love and you feel will help you with your future. You're going to be writing, listening and talking about this subject for at least three years so make sure you are truly fascinated by it.

Stress. University is a lot of fun but it brings a lot of stress too. Deadlines, exams, readings and so on from time to time it's is going to get on top of you. I can't tell you the amount of times I've thought of dropping out because I have been totally stressed out but hang in there because you will regret dropping out so much. Plus the end result, getting a degree will be totally worth it.

Try and be organised. It may sound sad and boring but if you write yourself a timetable of when and what to do you will be so less stressed and you'll give yourself plenty of time to go out and have fun. I know its difficult to be organised, especially if you're anything like me (I find sticking to my schedule really hard sometimes) but just try your hardest and you'll stay on top of things.

Go to lectures. Ok I am being a total hypocrite here as I am hardly in lectures due to suffering really bad social anxiety. But its so much better if you do attend, you'll get so much more information and advice. However, don't worry if you do miss a lecture as most lecturers and universities but lecture notes up online for you to catch up.

Go to uni for yourself. If you decide to go to uni, go because you want to, because it will help you achieve your goals and it's what you want to do with your life. Don't go just in order to please someone else. Or because you feel you have no other options, there are many other things to do in life that don't include university.

I hope these tips help anyone thinking about university, if you have a question about university feel free to leave a comment.

Thanks for reading!
