How To Stay Motivated

I thought I would share with you my ways of staying motivated. Motivation is so important for me in the final year of uni; with essay and dissertation deadlines, and my exams all soon coming up. It's important to stay on top of these things and keep yourself focused but lately I've been finding it really hard, I've just wanted to give up so many times. So I decided to try out new ways of keeping myself motivated at such an important time, I hope it helps anyone going through the same situation.

1. Surround Yourself With Your Dreams
I recently made myself a collage of all the things I want out of life, mainly pictures of places I want to go, travelling is one of my biggest dreams. So when my motivation is at a low I look at my wall and remember that the only way I will get these things if I work hard and do my best.

2.Remember Everyone Started Out As A Beginner
Harry Potter was right about those great wizards, they all started as students. People are rarely amazing at something straight away. Every time you fail you are one step closer to succeeding. Giving up just takes you back to the starting line. So if something is not going right straight away, you can't think of a way of wording an essay, or what to say at all just take a break then get back to it.

3. Making Yourself Proud
If you keep working as hard as you can you'll be proud of yourself in the end. If you give up you'll just be disappointment in yourself. The most important person to please is yourself. So keep yourself focused to please and make the future you proud.

4. Reward Yourself
For example, every time you finish a task or a couple tasks, a reading, an essay and so on, treat yourself to some sweets or a trip to the cinema. You'll be much more inclined to deal with all those tasks that you have to do if you know that there is going to be a small reward for you and the end of each one (or few).

5. Put On A Motivational Playlist
It may seem cheesy but if you put on music that gets you motivated and energised, you'll get much more work done, it's actually believed that many people do better work when listening to music as well. So put on Eye Of The Tiger and go do your thing!

I hope these tips help with anyone who is not feeling any motivated at the moment, be it at university or anything else. Just remember no one got anywhere by quitting! What ways do you stay motivated? Let me know with a comment.
